10 Phrases you should avoid in your resume

Want to get a job?

Worry about your English skill?

So people tend to put in some phrases, as Ms Ryan called it "vocabulary challenged"!

Such as:
  • Results-oriented professional
  • Cross-functional teams
  • More than [x] years of progressively responsible experience
  • Superior (or excellent) communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Met or exceeded expectations
  • Proven track record of success
  • Works well with all levels of staff
  • Team player
  • Bottom-line orientation
You are who you are! And these phrases help nothing indeed!

Imagine a HR staff receiving thousands of resume using these same phrases, you shall hope nothing but the resume being dumped into the bin.

Write something out yourself! Don't be ashame of your english skill or common words. Your opportunity won't be hindered because of this (unless you are looking for a language-related job)!
