Does Yes really have 4G?

Recently, YTL Yes Mobile Internet service provider claims themselves as 4G service provider in Malaysia!

4G is definitely attracting since we are struggling with limited 3G connection (UMTS, HSPDA) in the town, due to either bad 3G signal coverage or congested network.

With massive advertisement, it catch a lot of people's eye. Some of my friends are going to sign up the plan since it is 4G!

But, are they really 4G?

According to ITU (International Telecommunication Union), 4G wireless network basic requirement is 100Mbps for download, which means 2mins for 1GB file.

This could be achieved by IEEE802.16m standard, which is not finalized yet(year 2010).

Well, I am ok if they are not using IEEE802.16m (Wimax 2), but they can not take advantage of the name of "4G", if they don't reach that speed. Or it may just become another brilliant marketing tactic after all.
